I wanted to share with you an introductory offer that's available at the moment on a brilliant online course Draw/paint/click/illustration!
I took part in the live and online course last year and can't recommend it enough...not to mention the online community you also join through the classroom and on Facebook; a few of us recently met up in London for drinks too.
Bill runs the course and takes you through all areas of illustration including composition, colour and style and the different areas like editorial and reportage. The course appealed to me as the focus is on creating hand made elements and textures, then composing these together digitally. My background is in design so I have spent a long time using Photoshop but the course is for all levels on the computer. There are great video tutorials and worksheets that talk you through Photoshop techniques. I still picked up new tricks and different ways of approaching things. It really frees up your method of working as the pressure of creating a perfect piece is removed...by layering sketches and textures you can really play with different styles and have fun. It's also inspiring to see how differently others approach the brief's set.
I have used the techniques I learnt in a few of the pieces shown here, let me know if anyone has any questions. If not take a look at the enrolment page below.
You can see other examples of student work here too, on Pinterest.
